Waitata Bay – Naturist Retreat

Nestled among the picturesque Bay of Islands, Waitata Bay Naturist Retreat is a little gem of naturism, with style, charm, peace and privacy. We welcome families and couples to come and share our friendly environment, where naturism is seen as the freedom to enjoy a lifestyle without clothes, in equality and with respect towards each other. An easy 40 metres walk from the accommodation to the naturist beach, Waitata Bay presents distinct and inviting naturist opportunities.

Our Accommodation

Comfortable, self-contained accommodation consisting of The Potting Shed, Barn Apartment, and our new Glamping option of a safari-style tent, allows our guests to unwind and relax.

The Potting Shed is a unique open space building in the style of a plant conservatory. There are no internal walls, as the planting of lush native plants, ferns and palms has been used to separate the different areas: kitchen, dining, shower, bathroom, bedroom, sitting room and lounge, all with a stunning view to the beach. The Potting Shed is tastefully and elegantly furnished with a touch of the islands in the great Polynesian high king-size bed from which you have views of the sea through a canopy of old Pohutukawa trees. The kitchen has a 4-burner gas hob, fridge-freezer and all kitchen essentials.

The Barn Apartment is a two-level designer apartment with an airy loft bedroom sleeping 4 in two queen-size beds. The kitchen is equipped with a 4-burner gas hob, microwave, fridge and large dining table. A spacious bathroom, and comfy lounge area complete the inside. Guests can enjoy meals outside, with a large umbrella for shade if required.

The Glamping Tent – Te Whare Manu is perfectly located to catch the early morning sun and also enjoy the warmth of our long summer evenings. Views to the beach and bay beyond are enjoyed from the deck. A king-size bed, kitchen with small oven and fridge and all equipment required, plus a separate shower and toilet are provided.

Linen and towels are supplied. A washing machine for guests use is located in the Tower, as is an outside hot shower – just perfect when returning from the beach.
